Temporary Lodging Policy

The Hospital Hospitality House is designed to provide housing for patients and/or family members who are temporarily in Richmond receiving medical care at a participating hospital. With the exception of transplant patients awaiting a transplant, the House is not intended to serve as a long term or permanent residence for those who require on-going maintenance therapies. Therefore, no patient/ caregiver shall be permitted to stay longer than 90 days, regardless of their status with the participating hospital. Guests requiring lodging for more than 90 days may discuss their needs with the HHH social worker(s) for referrals to social service agencies who may be able to assist with other lodging options. Exceptions to this policy shall be considered on a case by case basis.

HHH became a safe harbor in our storm. A hot shower after a long day of sitting and waiting was welcome beyond measure. The services of HHH are golden to families dealing with the traumas of their loved ones.

You may stay at HHH if a doctor, nurse, patient representative or hospital administrator from a participating hospital provides a referral to HHH. Referrals are necessary to ensure that rooms are available.
