Pediatric Floor
In October 2005, HHH completed renovations to begin accepting referrals for Pediatric patients and their care givers. For the first time, lodging can be provided to the youngest, most vulnerable patients. Great care was taken in the design of the floor to ensure it is a child-friendly, welcoming place for our young guests.
The floor is divided into two parts – one for pediatric transplant patients, the other for other surgical and treatment children referred from participating hospitals or through the International Hospital for Children (IHC). Each side of the pediatric floor is equipped with:
- A kitchen/family room/play area
- A learning center where children can maintain their education with the help of the Hospital Education tutors
- Guest rooms designed with children in mind. Guest rooms are equipped with audio monitors so that parents can be in the community areas of the floor when children are sleeping.
- A separate laundry for personal clothing items
